My dad is in town and we spent one whole day in the city with him. It was Clarisse first venture in the city.
Clarisse's Saturday morning was
- being hurried up to finish a normally leisurely breakfast of avocado, strawberry, and bananas in weetbix with milk.
- getting dressed in warm winter clothes for an all-day city trekking
- and a train ride into the city to visit Gua-kong (maternal grandfather). This obviously is the highlight of her morning as she seldom get the opportunity to ride the train. I seldom use the train on weekends too and it turned out a lot of parent take their kids out into the city during weekends and Clarisse had a few little company to occupy her attention with.
Clarisse's Lunch
- Darling Harbour's environment stimulated her. The water fountains, the harbour itself with its boats, the huge open air charged with activity is a change from our suburb.
- we had yum-cha. though it's not the first time we had it with her she surprisingly gulped down 3 bowls of noodles by herself with little mess and had some spring rolls and tofu-fa (dessert bean curd). I found myself actually eating and enjoying the food this time (as i don't have to be cosntantly looking if clarisse is feeding herself enough).
Clarisse's Afternoon
- we had a bit of a walk around and she fell asleep in her pram amidst the city noise.
- she woked up when we arrived back to my dad's hotel room. She had a bit of a play with the bed, took interest in her new wristwatch from Gua-ma (maternal grandmother).
Clarisse's Late afternoon/Late Evening
- a trip to Sydney Aquarium. The only animals she was interested in are Nemo, Dory, and Bruce. Surprisingly she loved the big giant turtle too.
Clarisse's Evening
- Dinner at Hurricane's Grill. She got a meal all to herself. A kid's meal of ribs and chips and a glass of orange juice. Her favorite: ribs - because she likes sucking bones; chips - are there any kids who doesn't like chips? ; orange juice - another kid's favorite with all the sugar in it.
